2 00 5 Point Interactions in Acoustics : One Dimensional Models

چکیده
A one dimensional system made up of a compressible fluid and several mechanical oscillators, coupled to the acoustic field in the fluid, is analyzed for different settings of the oscillators array. The dynamical models are formulated in terms of singular perturbations of the decou-pled dynamics of the acoustic field and the mechanical oscillators. Detailed spectral properties of the generators of the dynamics are given for each model we consider. In the case of a periodic array of mechanical oscillators it is shown that the energy spectrum presents a band structure.

The symmetry properties of the family of δ ′-interactions with a resonant non-zero transparency resulting in non-separated states are discussed. It is shown that the connection matrix for these physically motivated interactions and the corresponding family of self-adjoint extensions can be constructed in a self-consistent way if the product δ ′ (x)ψ(x), where ψ(x) is a discontinuous wavefunctio...
متن کاملUse of Stochastic Turbulence Models in Jet Acoustics
There are many approaches to determine the sound propagated from turbulent flows. In hybrid methods, the turbulent noise source field is computed or modeled separately from the far-field calculations. To have an initial and quick estimation of the sound propagation, less computationally intensive methods can be developed using stochastic models of the turbulent fluctuations. In this paper, ...
متن کاملState Space and Transfer Function Modeling of Evanescent Waves in Two-Dimensional Acoustics
With intense current interest in active noise control, it is desirable to develop models of acoustic phenomena that are useful for state-space-based control methodologies. Consequently, this paper extends the one-dimensional modeling of acoustic transfer functions developed in earlier work to the case of two-dimensional acoustics. This extension must therefore account for the phenomenon of evan...

In this paper geometric properties of infinitely renormalizable real Hénon-like maps F in R 2 are studied. It is shown that the appropriately defined renormalizations R n F converge exponentially to the one-dimensional renormalization fixed point. The convergence to one-dimensional systems is at a super-exponential rate controlled by the average Jacobian and a universal function a(x). It is als...
